This morning on the train I was reading about the writer’s strike and how it is about to be fanut. Apparently Peter Chernin (head of Fox) and Robert Iger (head of Disney) got involved and finally were able to get this things put to bed. After reading this in the LA Times, I decided to do a bit more digging and see how much this strike has cost the local economy. I have a lot of friends in the entertainment business and in businesses thathave been affected by this thing. So I stumble across this article in the Hollywood Reporter, and it says the strike cost the Los Angeles economy an estimated $2 billion smackaroos! That is some serious coin! Not sure if the writer’s got what they were looking for, but I hope it was at least worth it for them.
