Coldplay x ESPN x Euro 2008

With Coldplay getting ready to drop their latest album, they have just signed a marketing deal with ESPN in which they will promote soccer, the sports network and Euro 2008. My guess is this is a similar deal and situation to the one for the World Cup in 2006 when U2 and Bono were singing songs and doing ads all over ESPN. Any thoughts on this one?

Can Coldplay ever approach the greatness that was U2 in 06?

Greatest montage of all time…? (Only two more years until the next one)

I don’t know if they can touch that greatness that U2 hit with the 06 campaign. Those were some of the best ads and the best support for a soccer tournament. Curious to see what Coldplay and ESPN can pull off.

They just showed the Coldplay commercial during the Fire-DCU game - it was pretty good actually. Very much like the U2 montage. The song was ok, but the images are really amazing.
