Justin Braun Scores His 1st MLS Goal

Justin Braun

He’s appeared in 6 games for Chivas USA so far this season, has started 2 of them and scored his 1st Major League Soccer goal this Sunday in a 2-1 loss to the New England Revolution at the Home Depot Center.

So what right? This kid, Justin Braun has an incredible story, one that should give hope to all young players.

Justin’s going to be a regular contributor to this site (much like Sacha Kljestan, Herculez Gomez and Dante Washington) and I’ll let him tell his own story, but I’ll give you a little tid bit first.

I’ve known this kid for two years now. I met him after a scrimmage I played in up in Salt Lake City after I moved back with my wife. Big strong kid, lots of pace and an ability to take players on.

Tried telling some people about him, but you know how that stuff goes. Ended up playing Indoor Soccer with him over the course of these last two years twice a week and the kid just got better.

Between classes at the local Community College and working at a Soccer Store called Soccer International, Justin worked on his game as much as he could. And then he got his chance in the form of a man named Preki…. who says Developmental Contracts are bush league?

We’ll have his story in his own words later in the week.
