Peter Cech’s X-Ray

Filed under: Chelsea, Injuries, Peter Cech

Ever wonder why Peter Cech is still wearing that black, puffy helmet?

It was this collision with Reading’s Stephen Hunt that put Chelsea keeper Peter Cech in the hospital where he underwent  emergency brain surgery.

Peter Cech’s X-Ray

This X-Ray is the first look at the devastation that occurred.  Between the shattered pieces of bone, metal plates inserted and memory loss, it’s amazing that the 26 year old Czech International is even on the field.

And don’t forget about his collision earlier this year with teammate Tal Ben Haim that required 50 stitches to his face.

Poor guy can barely catch a break.  Whoops!

Hunt has gotten off light for this challenge. Is there honestly any doubt that the dropping of his knee was accidental? I’m not saying that Hunt was trying to seriously injur, only insure contact was made in an attempt to intimidate.

Nasty, nasty stuff & IMO deserving of much more harsh discipline than was handed out @ the time.

I’d have to agree.. We all know when we to pull out of a challenge and when to leave just a bit in to catch a part of the player.
Maybe karma caught up with him in the form of Relegation?

Whatever happened to Hunt’s brother Mike?
