Charles Long and His LA River Project
Filed under: Art, Los AngelesDunny mentioned how a handful of us went out early last weekend to help do our part and clean up the LA River. Good times for a good cause. Anyways, I get an email today from the fine folks over at Current telling us about the artist Charles Long who takes his inspiration from some interesting perspectives of what the LA River has to offer. As a fan of art, I can appreciate his unique approach and his interesting inspiration for his artwork.
I actually find this interesting for a number of reasons. One of the most being that for those of us living in LA, the LA River is typically thought of as more of an eyesore than anything else. It usually looks more like a drainage ditch than a river, and people seem to view it as a great dump site as opposed to a river and water way. Charles Long found his own beauty in what the river has to offer, and I think Dunny, Jade, Stevland, Zach and I found our own last week as well. Peep the video about Charles Long and his LA River project after the jump.
