I’ve got to be honest, this is a bit of a shock even though it shouldn’t be.
SMU head coach and all around good guy Schellas Hyndman was officially named the newest head coach of FC Dallas this afternoon with a press conference set for tomorrow, according to General Manager Michael Hitchcock.
Will former Real Salt Lake head coach John Ellinger become his right hand man? It’d make sense considering Ellinger understands the league and it’s inner workings as far as trades, acquisitions and players are concerned.
Still though, why not Oscar Pareja? He not only has the player pedigree and league coaching experience as an Assistant Coach, but is a fluent Spanish speaker and with learning the inner system of the United States youth National Teams for the past year and a half along with Wilmer Cabrera you’d think he’d be the type of guy who’d fit perfectly for a team like FC Dallas.
