5 Daily Essentials - Rola
Filed under: Rola, The Essentials1. Honey Bunches of Oats – I must start my day off with honey bunches of oats (1% milk preference). Nothing beats the delectable bits of honey oat clusters in every bite. I used to enjoy Wheaties, but then I realized I needed more flavor in my life. Anyways, Honey Bunches of Oats seems to give me some fuel every morning, especially during the school year when classes run for hours with little break in between.

2. Palm Treo 750 – I used to use a paper planner and pen to keep track of my weekly schedule, my classwork, exams, and the other activities that college students engage in
. Slowly, I started to become very lazy in writing all the essentials down, and that led to forgetting certain things. I needed a new phone anyways……. So now I have the Treo within the palm of my hands (ha!). I was watching ‘I Love the Millennium’ on VH1 yesterday, and they were talking about the iPhone… Michael Ian Black commented, “when will they ever make a phone just to make phone calls.” I laughed, because 90% of the stuff I do on my phone involves texting, 5% involved planning, and the other 5% involves the calls. SAD!
3. My computer… alright, so I have a custom built desktop (by my bro) and my new Dell XPS 1530… I can’t go a day without either of these. I’m a ‘Check My E-mail Every Minute’ type of person….. every morning, I open up one of them, and this is my first use of the day routine: check my e-mail, check facebook, see if anyone uploaded pictures on facebook, check The Original Winger, check sports.yahoo.com, check the weather, check my e-mail, check facebook… etc….
4. Nike Free 5.0 v3 – I run practically every day – to keep in shape for soccer, of course. I’m definitely a supporter of the Nike Free system, and can attest to their claim that it makes your lower legs stronger. I frequently got shin splints with my other running shoes, but after I started running in the Nike Free shoes two years ago, I have yet to experience any pain… oh and not only are they great performance wise, but they’re pretty classy too.
5. This one was difficult, because I have quite a few I could put down here… but I will have to say water is my last essential. I go through at least 4 half liter bottles of water every day, which I know is not environmentally friendly (so I should probably cut down on the bottles). On match days, I usually drink more.
