Plants-
I’d like you to meet my children. Two bonsai: tamarind (center), jaboticaba (left), six orchids, and a few other epiphytes including two crazy antler-like plants that grow out of moss hanging on the wall. When I travel people ask me if I like living in New York. My typical response is that I love it, but I miss trees. I’d fill my entire apartment with plants if they didn’t need sunlight, making this window shelf a daily necessity for my sanity.

Tempur Pedic-
I sleep on the mattress, lay my head on the neck pillow. I travel with a smaller version of the pillow. I’m addicted to some foam.
Oliver Peoples Prescription Sunglasses-
My vision is deteriorating. Surgery seems a little extreme, but so does wearing eye glasses or contacts all day. Sunglasses, on the other hand, I can do that. Oliver Peoples offers their retro frames with prescription lenses. They aren’t cheap, but thanks to my AMEX card, I never leave home without them.
Inka Pen-
I use the notepad on my iPhone, scribble in my notebook, and have more than a few stickies on my home and work computers, but I still find myself without those things and wanting to write something down. A scrap of paper and the Inka pen on my keychain are my most used back-up.
Sagebrush Sack Its-
I purchased two of these bags in Kake, Alaska, a few years ago from a couple I met there who makes “simply the finest waterproof bags available anywhere.” I have a great duffle they made, but it doesn’t get the daily use the grocery bags do. They are made from the same material most tents are made from. In my backpack or back pocket, I always have one.
