It is an odyssey that looks destined to become a football legend. A group of British fans proud of following their team anywhere have hired a 72ft trawler, the “Three Sisters” for a journey on the high seas – a 26 hour journey – after being priced out of flying, to go to a fixture in the Faroes. After driving to Aberdeen they plan to catch an overnight ferry to the Shetland Islands where they are due sail to the Faroes.

Update – The weather has turned rough, and the vessel is confined to Lerwick. However, all is not lost. In a footnote it is reported that “…the group has also persuaded football magazine FourFourTwo to supply them with alcohol on the trawler.”
