“We’ll respect the agreement that was made before his transfer to Milan,” Milan vice president Adriano Galliani said Wednesday.
UPDATE - Barcelona director of football, Txiki Begiristain has dropped an interesting tidbit regarding Ronaldinho’s transfer to AC Milan for 19.8 Million Pound.
The player will always decide where he wants to play. As a club, we can have 40 different offers but in the end, what counts is the player’s own desire,” he said.
The technical director also revealed one of the main deal-breakers that clinched the move: “This agreement was reached because Ronnie forfeited his right to 15% of the transfer fee.
“We are very satisfied with this deal because all three parties are happy. We are contented with the transfer and Ronnie will now also leave happy.”
Wow… Forfeiting his rights to the 15% is pretty interesting. Ronaldinho really wanted to get the hell out of Barcelona.
The 28 year old Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, aka Ronaldinho has agreed to personal terms and a three year deal with the Rossoneri after the Serie A team sorted out the transfer fee with La Liga’s Barcelona.
Milan released a statement on their official website which read: “AC Milan and Barcelona have reached an agreement in principle over the transfer of Ronaldinho.
“The player will be in Milan [on Wednesday] to undergo a medical and sign a contract that will keep him at Milan until June 30 2011.”
With all the rumors and speculation surrounding Ronaldinho after his days were numbered at Barcelona, it’s good to see the former best player in the world getting his life sorted. And hey, Berlusconi called it!
