Will the Credit Crunch Start Affecting Players?

I’m no economist, but it is no secret that the economy (and not just here in the US) is in a world of hurt. With people keeping an eye on their pennies, pounds and euros just a little bit closer, how will this effect the world’s game? Well, according to Arsenal Chariman Peter Hill-Wood, even the players are going to be affected by the credit crunch.

With the Premier League wage bill hitting almost $2 billion, and many clubs saddled by huge debt, clubs are going to be in increasingly difficult positions as the debt markets continue to fluctuate.  Here are a couple other places that are looking at this potentially problematic area for world football.
