I just came across this story on SI that says seven people have been arrested in a crackdown on an organized crime group that tried to buy Lazio football club with laundered money. What?! What is even crazier is that apparently former Lazio and New York Cosmos striker Giorgio Chinaglia is being sought as well and that he has been on the lam.

This story goes on to say that Chinaglia is “believed to have fled to the United States two years ago when authorities first ordered his arrest on charges of extortion and insider trading at Lazio, police official Gianluca Campana said.” It sounds like Chinaglia was involved in some super shady things with Lazio and now he is nowhere to be found.  Anyone else heard much about this?
