Will Carlton Cole Go Nigerian?

Now Nigerian Head Coach Shaibu Amodu has called on Cole to join up with the Super Eagles ahead of their preparations for the last World Cup Qualifying phases in early 2009 with matches against South Africa September 6th and and against Sierra Leone on October 11th.
The 20-man Nigeria squad includes: Ayenugba (Bnei Yehuda), Etafia (Moroka Swallows); Yobo (Everton), Shittu (Watford), Odiah, Mohammed (Al Hilal), Ola (Cesena), Nwaneri, Taiwo (Marseille); Olofinjana (Stoke City), Uche (Almeria), Mikel (Chelsea), Haruna (Monaco), Ayila (Dynamo Kiev); Okoduwa (Dynamo Kiev), Utaka (Portsmouth), Cole (West Ham), Martins (Newcastle), Yakubu (Everton), and Kanu (Portsmouth).
The 6′3″, 24 was born in Surrey, England but has the ability to play for either Nigeria or Sierra Leone through his parents descent.
