Nowak is a horrible coach. I loved him as a player for the Fire but he can't coach for S_ _ _.
Orozco KILLED any chance of winning against Nigeria and Adu's silly yellow in the first game was beyond horrible as well. Adu's vision could have counteracted some of the pain of Orozco's MORONIC red card by really slicing Nigeria's midfield up; which was already getting sliced up in his absence.

This stings because we really should have beat Holland, and Nigeria, frankly, is a terribly organized team and could have been gutted open if we weren't playing a man down for 87 minutes in 100 degree heat and 80% humidity.

On a positive note, if Wynne ever refines his technical skills (his touch really lets him down at times especially), he could really be one of the best 10-15 fullbacks in the world, much less the US. His pace is just ridiculous.

I guess the story of the tournament for the US is the fouls. Holden outside the box, Adu and Bradley accumulation, Orozco red... Nowak should get his share of the blame certainly, but the fouls seem like a sign of the youthful nature of the team. Tells me that the players need even more experience in the big games with good/bad refs. I wonder what Gulati is thinking and planning now?

Props for Kjlestan for scoring the "honor" goal.
I agree with Nick, the US played well during the group stage but a couple of foul seem to have smeared everything.
And as for Orozco, childish...

Wow. The U.S. played well over their three games, but two stupid fouls cost us the whole tournament. I'm not really sure why Nowak took off Altidore instead of McBride. I love the guy, but he is fossilizing, and it's really affecting his speed. Orozco is going to be very depressed for a while (me too), but I take a lot of positives from the tournament. If Bob Bradley starts playing the likes of Altidore, Edu, Holden, and Kjlestan, then I think we'll be looking better than ever for 2010. What a game though. I wish we won.
