£35.8million Price Tag for Adebayor
Filed under: AC Milan, Arsenal, WTFUPDATE - No need to worry about a price tag anymore as E-Adebayor has signed a new and improved “long term deal”.
I’m having a tough time believing that the big man from Togo isn’t absolutely thrashing that so-called wage ceiling at Arsenal now.
And I guess I have my answer after it’s finally reported that EA will make 80,ooo Pound a week.
Milan have opted out of siging Adebayor (at least for the moment) after Arsenal have placed a £35.8million price tag on him. I know the dude dropped 30 goals last season, and probably should have had a few more, but $70 million after one great season? How about $40 million for Gareth Barry? Yes, he too is a very good player, but seriously! $40 million because he is a great complimentary player to Stevie G? WTF! These transfer fees are getting more and more ridiculous and at what point does the value to cost ratio start balancing out? There is a ton of money getting pumped into the game, and some of the richest cats in the world are now owning teams, but these valuations do not seem justified to me, and at these sorts of prices it doesn’t seem like the sport can be sustained going forward like this.

I agree, but as long as one owner is willing to pay, all the other feel obligated to pay as well to stay competetive.
