Jimmy Jean-Louis And Hollywood United Reach Out To Hurricane Stricken Haiti

UPDATE – Looks like even FIFA.com has taken notice of our boy / Hollywood United / Heroes star Jimmy Jean-Louis’s effort to bring International attention to the island of Haiti and their daily life threatening situation after being hit hard by multiple Hurricanes in the past couple of months.

Taking a cue from Brazil’s trip to Haiti to play the Haitian National Team back in 2004, Jean-Louis’ idea to bring a World All-Star Team to Haiti might just become a realistic possibility in the very near future.

Amidst the onslaught of hurricane Gustav and Hannah, Jimmy Jean-Louis (NBC’s Heroes) visited Haiti to donate sports equipment from Hollywood United Football Club.

HUFC whose players include Anthony LaPaglia (Without a Trace), Brandon Routh (Superman), Ziggy Marley, Frank Le Boeuf (France World cup winner 1998), Alexi Lalas (former General Manager of David Beckham’s LA Galaxy), Gilles Marini (Sex in the City’s hunk) amongst others, generously donated sports kits to AJSB and L’Athletique D’Haiti, two non-profit organizations in Cite Soleil and Bel Air, the most impoverished slums of Port Au Prince, Haiti.

Jimmy Jean-Louis says, “Haiti always needs help, but right now the need is critical. The gravity of the situation is comparable to what happened in New Orleans with Katrina, it is happening right now in many cities in Haiti.”

HUFC president Anthony Lapalglia says “We are committed to helping in anyway we can and urge others to do so as well.”

It’s easy to forget that sometimes people don’t have the ability or the resources to be able to evacuate when major storms or hurricanes make direct hits like this.

This is not the first time, nor will it be the last that Jimmy’s returned to give back to the people, friends and families of Haiti.

I’ve known Jimmy for awhile now and can honestly say that he’s one of the good guys and someone that genuinely gets it.
