Manchester City’s Stephen Ireland has continued his insistence that he’s happy to be without his country as the midfielder continues his play without representing Ireland.
After stepping away from his International status after allegedly inventing a story about his grandmothers dying, Ireland’s 4 goals in 6 International appearances will seemingly stay where they are.
“I haven’t missed international football. Not at all,” the 22 year old said. “”It’s just that since I walked away, I feel like I’m better off being away from it instead of going back to it. It’s helped me to concentrate on my club football.”
“The Premier League is getting harder and harder, there are no easy games. It’s very competitive so as I said at the moment it’s best to stay away [from Ireland] right now.”
