San Diego
Filed under: Bumpy PitchHeaded down to San Diego on Tuesday to meet with some new Bumpy Pitch accounts. It was a quick trip, but as far as I’m concerned any day in San Diego is a good day. If anbody reading this is from San Diego…pat yourself on the back, you have an amazing city. Bumpy Pitch is now going to be repped in San Diego, so we’ll be giving some more details of stores down there carrying the brand soon. And I think there is definitely a trip in the works for the crew to head down there soon. San Diego stand up!
Downtown….on top of a hill…but the ocean is never far away
When I got directions for one of the stores I was meeting with, I was told to “make a slight right turn onto NormalSt.”…somewhat ironic as I’ve lived my entire life trying to avoid the proverbial “Normal St.”
Found this neighborhhood today, and I am a huge fan. Gotta love any neighborhood that supports the arts and culture.
Anybody that has driven north on the 5 from San Diego to LA will recognize this checkpoint. Our boy Kyle gets held up every single time he passes this checkpoint…smooth sailing today. I miss you already San Diego.

Any stores close to UCSD? And did you get the chance to go to Point Loma Seafood? Next time y’all are down, it’s a must if you have the time.
There’s an interesting club there in the gaslamp district, Henry’s. Tuesday night is rock-a-billy night with “The Stilletos”. Very interesting retro scene.
/me pats self on back for living in San Diego
junior at UCSD.
although, i think im more of an LA man.
any of you UCSD guys checked out Stingaree? I saw DJ Z-Trip there last fall and was quite impressed with the club. Just curious what the weekly scene was like there.
Stingaree is very, very nice. As a venue you couldn’t really ask for more. It’s a bit expensive, but they fill the bill very well. Usually bumpin, though they do have some off nights. It’s nice to head up to the Oasis on the roof after being on the dancefloor level for a bit. Again, a little expensive so a student like me can’t really do much but when I can get older friends to front me in it’s always a good night.
San Diego overall is pretty nice. It’s more of an indie city as opposed to the melange of LA but there’s always good music if that’s your thing. On the other hand, Pacific Beach is always awesome and Gaslamp is really, really nice (If you’re into Indian food check out Royal India in downtown).
@nels From LA too. Have you noticed UCSD getting hotter every single year. Compared to my freshman year, the girls this year are /amazing/.
rhybread, I agree the Oasis was a breathe of fresh air. I end up in SD at least once a year so Gaslamp is always a go. I enjoy Indian food highly so I’ll give your suggestions a sampling when I visit again. While we’re on the subject of hot girls and SD, if you want a great getaway in the city, whisk your girl (flavor of the week, whatever) to the Sofia Hotel for a night. Enjoy college sir.
Me–> reaches around and pats self on back.
Yes!!! Point Loma Seafood is a must for any seafood fans!
