PCL Blow For Skrtel

Martin Skrtel

Paging Sami Hyypia, Mister Hyypa you’re one step closer to the starting lineup.

But first Denmark’s Daniel Agger (who lost his starting place after suffering back to back metatarsal break) will become the General in the back alongside Jamie Carragher after Slovakian Martin Skrtel went down after a challenge on Manchester City’s Ched Evans during Liverpool’s 3 - 2 win at the weekend.

No timetable as to when Skrtel could be back in action for the Reds (in which he and Carragher allowed just 4 goals as a pairing), but after the MRI confirmed the injury, a date was set with the specialist.

Watched this game live and this injury looked bad. The mechanism of it didn’t look too bad, but his reaction was scary. Guy was in serious pain. When they tried to touch his knee, he’d scream even more. They had to give him some aerosol morphine or something just so that they could move his knee into a splint/brace thing. Scary.

I’m pissed this happened yet I’m hoping Agger can step in and gain his good form back. Like Skrtel. Know he’s gonna be out for the season. Sucks.

He’s been a monster at the back since he joined, will be sadly missed, but Danny Agger is mega, he’s fit, and doesn’t mind popping up on the score sheet either.
