Italian National Team and AC Milan legend Alessandro Costacurta has taken the first step in his managerial career, taking over Serie B side Mantova.

Led by former Milan player Locatelli, Mantova currently sit in 13th place with 13 points and after having recently receiving his Coaching Badges, the 42 year old Costacurta will look to use his club and international pedigree, one that includes 5 Champions League titles, 7 Serie A Championships, Euro ‘96 and the 1994 and 1998 World Cup.

“Mantova are a club which has always fascinated me, the president is young and ambitious,” he said during the press conference. “I thank him very much for this chance, because it isn’t easy to entrust a Serie B team to a debutant coach. I am full of enthusiasm and optimistic, this Mantova team can fight for something important, that’s why I’m convinced of this choice.
