Cristiano Ronaldo Named FifPro World Footballer Of The Year By His Peers

2008 FifPro Awards

After dropping a mind numbing 42 goals and leading Manchester United to the Premiership and Champions League titles  over the course of the 2007 / 08 season, 23 year old Cristiano Ronaldo was today recognized as the world’s best player by his fellow professionals.

The first eleven is led by the Euro 2008 champions Spain with 5 entries,

Goalkeeper – Iker Casillas (Spain/ Real Madrid)

Defenders – Sergio Ramos (Spain/ Real Madrid), John Terry (England/ Chelsea), Carles Puyol (Spain/ Barcelona) and Rio Ferdinand (England/ Manchester United)

Midfielders - Steven Gerrard (England/ Liverpool), Xavi (Spain/ Barcelona) and Ricardo Kaká (Brazil/AC Milan).

Forwards – Lionel Messi (Argentina/ Barcelona), Fernando Torres (Spain/ Liverpool), and Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal/ Manchester United)

    Whoa that’s a pretty bad ass line up. Imagine playing a team field with those players. Think I just drooled a little.

    Personally CR makes my skin crawl and not in a good way. Hope Torres can snatch the honors next year.
