Sometimes controversial Glasgow Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc will go under the knife on Monday to correct a knee problem, the second time (though he did recover to game fitness in just three weeks) in less than a year.

With Boruc fined 500 Pound and escaping a harsher penalty for gestures made towards Glasgow Rangers fans during August’s Old Firm Match at Parkhead, the prospect of losing their Number 1 for even a month could affect upcoming fixtures that not include Scottish Premier League matches against Kilmarnock and Hamilton Accies, St Mirren, Inverness Caley Thistle and Hibernian, but Champions League matches against Aalborg on November 25th and Villarreal on December 10th.
