Tony Adams revealed on BBC Radio that Martin Keown has turned down the chance to become part of his former Arsenal teammate’s staff at Portsmouth.

After ruling out the possibility of Denis Bergkamp as well, the loss of the 42 year old Keown didn’t seem to sit well the new Pompey boss.

“I think Martin is feeling that sitting on the sofa at Match of the Day and Football Focus is the way forward,” Adams told BBC Radio Solent.

“It might not be right for here and now but in the future who knows. I might persuade him in the summer.”
