CONCACAF Champions League Tightens Stadium Standards For 2009
Filed under: Concacaf Champions League, StadiumsThe CONCACAF Executive Committee yesterday ruled that teams competing in the 2009 version of the CONCACAF Champions League must have adequate stadiums that are up to regional standards or else they will be replaced in the Quarterfinals in February.
While judging the first Qualification phase an overall success, the issues of inadequate power supply / flood light issues / locker rooms in the Caribbean and Central American regions during those matches and the complaints that came in forced the Executive Committee to re-think their Stadium standards required for inclusion.

It’s true, compared to some of the stadiums HDC looks like Old Trafford. Even crew stadium looks pretty good in comparison.
Actually the level of stadiums in Latin America is surprisingly especially Argentina. Although, good stadiums doesn’t mean good atmosphere. Look at Argentina. They could play in the middle of the ditch, those fans would still bring it.
