Maradona To Bring In Riquelme For Scotland Friendly

UPDATE - Looks like your wish came true Lucas as Riquelme was left out of Maradona’s squad after a successful appeal from Boca Juniors.

Juan Roman Riquelme

It’s starting to look as if Argentina legend and newly appointed National Team coach Diego Maradona will call in one of his personal favorites to strengthen his squad ahead of their November 19th Friendly at Hampden Park.

“I have to talk to Roman,” said Maradona. “We know he has played a lot of matches, but you cannot say no to the national team.

“Tomorrow I will analyze which home-based players we’ll name to add the rest of the squad.”

And it looks as if Diego was able to convince Liverpool’s Javier Mascherano to take the Captain’s band.

I love Juan Roman but he makes the National Team worse when he is included as the playmaker. In order for him to be effective the team has to play for him and as a result he slows the overall pace of the game down for us. Leave him out!
