Thanksgivings right around the corner, so that means it time for my Fathers and my annual pilgrimage to the West Coast for family, friends, and other shenanigans. The trip starts with the Bay Area and then we’re off down the coast.

As long as it’s black it’s good enough for me at breakfast. A little grub (cheese and freshly caught shrimp omelet) at the Buena Vista cafe. Birthplace of the famous Irish Coffee down by the wharf.

A room with a view over on Bush St. The Hotel Des Arts is a must stay for anyone wanting a unique hotel experience without paying out the butt for it. Every room is painted/decorated by a different artist from every walk of life. My favorites happen to be those from the graffiti and street art scene.

Joe, the sharp manager that he is, knows we stay out here every year around this time so he didn’t have a problem throwing us in a suite so we could check out some of the new art
