The 24 year old wife of Paraguayan International and Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz was robbed at Knifepoint in front of their two children after thieves broke into their home around 6pm on Saturday.

With Roque away at Portsmouth with Blacburn, wife Giselle was home alone with the children and robbed of jewelry at knifepoint before the thieves left their 1.75 Million Pound home in Bowdon, Chesire and the family unharmed.

Unfortunately this isn’t the first time robbers have targeted players and their families while the players were on away trips.

Wigan’s Emile Heskey’s fiancee had a knife held at her throat during a robbery earlier in the year while Lucas Leiva became the 9th Liverpool player to have his home broken in to in just two years following Robbie Keane, Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt, Daniel Agger, Pepe Reina and former players Peter Crouch and Jerzey Dudek.
