Linesman John Stokes Dropped For This Weekend

Arsenal Linesman

The man who left his flag down during Robin Van Persie’s tying goal has been left off the list for this weekend’s upcoming fixtures.

The Arsenal at Chelsea referee crew of Mike Dean and Linesmen Simone Beck and John Stokes have all taken their fair share of battering in the press after allowing the opening Arsenal goal at Stamford Bridge and now their upcoming weekend assignments have been announced.

Dean will be the man in the middle for Stoke at Newcastle and Beck running the line for Ipswich at Norwich while Stokes will not be used.

After “Big Phil’s” asking of a public apology following Chelsea 2 - 1 defeat to Arsenal and The Professional Game Match Officials, the body responsible for referees and their assistants not commenting on the situation, the actions seem to speak clearly about what they saw in the post - match video analysis.

This is one reason why soccer sucks. Now linesman get to rob of us more goals when their flags go up when forwards are on, because they fear not being selected.
