Reports coming out of Spain and newspaper Marca are saying the Mali International and Real Madrid defensive midfielder Mahamadou Diarra could be set for surgery following a re aggravation of a knee injury suffered back in October while on International duty.

Marca said Diarra could be out for up to six months, meaning he would miss the rest of the season.

A club spokeswoman said she could not comment on the report, adding there would be no details regarding the injuries of any of the team’s players until doctors submit their weekly report Saturday.

Real Madrid sit in 4th place with 26 points, 6 points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona.

Oh, and if you’re keeping track, that’s 11 players out injured for Madrid.
