Torres Facing Another Injury Layoff
Filed under: Fernando Torres, Injuries, LiverpoolUPDATE - Fernando Torres‘ hamstring injury is worse than first feared and the Spanish International is out for a minimum of four weeks and Liverpool refusing to put a time table on the 24 year olds return.
“We first said two to three weeks but do not want to put a time on it now,” said Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez. “He will come back when he is ready. We will not rush him back.”
“We want to resolve this problem once and for all and we will make sure we do that.”
Liverpool are currently top of the table, but have drawn their last two home matches without scoring a goal.
Even though Fernando Torres made it through Liverpool’s 1 - 0 win over Ligue 1 side Marseille, scans by the Liverpool medical staff showed another strain in the same hamstring that held him out for the last 5 weeks.
A club spokesman told www.liverpoolfc.tv: “Fernando has a strain in his right hamstring and will be out of action for between two and three weeks
