Just got back from a pretty crazy day up in Lancaster with Mark Rogondino doing the US Soccer Nike Friendlies between the US U-17′s and Brazilian U-17′s on FSC.
The kids from the Colorado Rapids kicked it in the lounge, playing FIFA before their game.
The first match of the double header was supposed to be the US vs Brazil and the second US vs Australia, but horrible news trickled it’s way down to our broadcast truck as the Australia U-17 head coach Martin Crook (formerly of West Adelaide SC) had passed away in the middle of the night.
With some last minute shifting and hustling, Chivas USA U-17′s / 18′s matched up against the Chicago Fire U-17′s / 18′s in the first match for a 2 – 2 draw and the US U-17′s took on Brazil in the second match.
The next game will be on Sunday, a rematch of today’s US U-17′s vs Brazil’s U-17′s with plenty of pics to follow.
