With all reports leaning towards Real Madrid forward and Dutch International Ruud van Nistelrooy being out for the rest of the year after surgery in Colorado with Dr. Richard Steadman, recent quotes from the big Dutchman has his return a bit earlier than expected.

“It’s possible for me to return to match action in April. Nevertheless, it’s very important for me to remain patient,” said Van Nistelrooy to Sport1.

“The doctors already told me that I would feel very good very quick. I can bend my knee like nothing ever happened and you can’t see that there’s something wrong.”

“Yet I still have to use crutches for at least eight weeks. Additionally, I’m using a device that gives my knee extra support for eight hours per day.”

“I can hardly wait till it’s January the eighth. That’s the date I can walk normally again without any help.”
