German International Bastian Schweinsteiger has another reason to be happy (besides having Sarah Brandner as a girlfriend) after extending his contract with Bayern Munich another three years until 2012.

“We are very pleased that we were able to close the deal with one of our important players,” Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said Monday.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who has played 62 games for Germany, always said he would prefer to stay at Bayern than look for another club.
