After dropping two assists during AC Milan’s 3 – 0 win over Lazio, Carlo Ancelotti and AC Milan included the 33 year old on their 25 man UEFA Cup squad despite being only technically eligible for the February 18th and 26th matches against Werder Bremen.

“We have included him because he is playing well,” said AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti. “We want to take advantage of his form for the two games against Werder Bremen.”

Beckham again starred for his new club as they beat Lazio 3-0 on Sunday.

The England midfielder set up two goals as the Rossoneri closed the gap on Serie A leaders Inter Milan to six points.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star also played a full 90 minutes, proving his fitness to England boss Fabio Capello after being an injury doubt before the game.

Beckham crossed for Alexandre Pato to open the scoring before the break and then later whipped in a free kick which Massimo Ambrosini headed home for 2-0.

“The finish from Pato was better,” explained the former Manchester United player on the program Controcampo. “That’s my job, to put the ball in the right place. Although, the finish was better than the pass.”
“I’m very happy. I’m enjoying myself here and I will be happy to play in the UEFA Cup,” he said.Meanwhile, the Rossoneri pulled within six points of Inter, leaping over Juventus to second place in the Serie A standings.

“There are other teams involved too,” suggested the 33-year-old. “Genoa won today in the last minute. People will always talk about the big three, but there are others involved.”

The interview concluded with Beckham explaining what he has learned of the Italian language. “I’ve learned some words I can’t say on television,” he laughed. “I’m still learning, I’m trying.”
