UPDATE – Real Madrid has chosen to register Lassana Diarra over Klass – Jan Huntelaar for the Champions League knockout stages starting with Liverpool at the Sanitago Bernabeu on February 25th and the return leg scheduled for Anfield on March 10th.
Real Madrid have had their hopes for registering both new signings Klass – Jan Huntelaar and Lassana Diarra for the Champions League Knock – Out Stages dashed after Uefa Spokesman Willard Gaillard confirmed only one would be made available because both had played for Ajax and Portsmouth respectively in the Uefa Cup.

Uefa rules state only one of the pair can play in the Champions League as both have already represented their former clubs in the Uefa Cup this season.
“I am very sorry, but the rules are what they are and they cannot be changed in the middle of a season,” he said.
“That means that only one of the two players can play in the Champions League. They can include either Huntelaar or Diarra.”
Real have been drawn against Liverpool in the first knockout round of the Champions League on 25th February and 10th March.
Tough decision… Think about how much money one player is going to lose by not being chosen to be on that Champions League Roster.
My bet is Huntelaar, only because of injuries.
