He’s played and coached at some of the biggest clubs in the country and now former England Assistant Brian Kidd is on his way south to help out caretaker manager Paul Hart while Portsmouth search for a permanent head coach.

“Brian’s a fantastic coach with a great track record,” said Hart. “We’ve known each other for an awfully long time and I’m delighted he’s come here to assist me.”
Kidd, whose role will be reassessed when a permanent replacement for Adams is found, last worked as assistant manager to Bryan Robson during his unsuccessful spell at Sheffield United. He has also had coaching roles with England and Leeds.
