Watching Party: The Mezzanine in Houston
Filed under: FC Uptown, Pubs, US National TeamBefore heading down 59 to The Mezzanine here in Houston, I gathered my “essentials” while catching up on all the latest very important information.
The Mezz is located at 59 and Greenbriar in Southwest Houston. This is where Dynamo fans have their away watching parties btw. As a Dallas fan, I am on enemy territory, but this game was too big for any of that stuff.
Although very dark, there were maybe a hundred fans out to watch this one. Not a seat available anywhere.
I was parched and consulted the “Playbook” and got a couple drinks. I thought two tall ones for $6.50 was an outstanding deal.
Michael Bradley puts the US ahead, and off the field I try and score points with a couple locals.
My boy, Captain America represented well.
Raising the roof at 90 minutes!
Overall, a very fun time and I hope to make it back for another one sometime soon.

mmm Zapps chips. The crawfish ones are the best.
Looks like a good time. Wish I could have made it. Maybe next time I’ll roll through.
You live here in town? Or just visiting?
FC Uptown,
I am in houston.
I was not aware mezz. was a good spot for nats games. I usually go to richmond arms. Which do you prefer?
Travis
I am visiting Houston, hoping to relocate here with work.
Richmond Arms is outstanding. Mezz is more bar-like, less pub-like if you know what I mean. The Mezz is very soccer friendly and they were pumped to have the US fans - hence the special prices on everything. I would definitely check it out sometime.
where is this Richmond Arms you speak of? Off of Richmond im assuming?
you a pilot?

took in a lot of euro 08 games and champions league final last year. You have to arrive early if you want a seat…for the champions league final people were forced to watch from outside.
its past the galleria if you are heading away from downton.
Those are some great pics. Happy to read that you had a good time! Hopefully we’ll see you again on April 1st!
