Rafa Benitez has included Steven Gerrard on the flight to Madrid after the England International had recovered enough from the hamstring injury suffered in the FA Cup loss to Everton to make it through their final training session under the watchful eye of the Liverpool medical staff.

After a training session this morning and discussions between Benítez and the club’s medical staff, he has been included in the travelling party for the game at the Bernabéu.

Gerrard’s availability represents a major fillip for Liverpool following Sunday’s disappointing 1–1 home draw against Manchester City, a result that left the club seven points adrift of the league leaders, Manchester United.

Liverpool will be without Daniel Agger against Real. The Danish defender missed the City game with a back injury and will not travel tomorrow.
