project-1

Spending some time walking the halls of Project and Magic last week showed us a lot of what is going on in the apparel business these days. Seeing what is on deck for some of the world’s biggest and most popular brands, as well as those most people have never heard of was an eye opening experience. There was a lot of creativity which was refreshing, but there was also a lot of re-hashing of old ideas, and in some cases, blatant rip offs of pre-existing brands. One thing that was certain, there were not anybody else doing what we are doing with Bumpy Pitch.

They opted for the pink carpet…

Along with apparel, they had toys all over the place. Nothing but orginality coming out of kidrobot

We came across the outside of this booth and got really excited…until we stepped inside and saw what was going on. I don’t remember the name of the company whose booth this was, but I’m just going to say that they had taken some of the world’s biggest and most iconic soccer clubs and were slapping their logos on anything and everything. Pretty unfortunate to see the way these clubs logos were being used. Somebody needs to keep an eye on their licensees…

Reminds me a little of those old puzzles that you would do as a kid where you would start at once side of the maze and have to find yourself to the other side.

Another booth done right…

After a long day we headed out to grab some food. On our way to dinner we came across this statue that had a bunch of singles laid out in front. Ends up this is not a statue but some dude who just poses and doesn’t move. Pretty incredible actually. I can’t sit still for more than 20 seconds, and this dude didn’t move for minutes at a time.

Here’s Athe and Raul enjoying the some drinks in the middle of a faux Venetian courtyard. Thanks to the good people over at Postrio for looking after us. And finally, I’m just gonna say Robin Leach FTW. Dude walked in sipping champagne with a group of about 7 women. Looks like the OG of the “good life” still has it.
