Brazilian International and Manchester City playmaker Robinho jetted home 10,000 miles on his weekend off, getting treatment and therapy for an injured ankle at Brazilian side Sao Paulo FC.
Robinho said: ‘This time spent (in Sao Paulo) is important for me to return well for Manchester City and help them in the next match.
‘I thank all the physiotherapists and the president Juvenal Juvencio for opening the doors of the club to me.’
He returned to England on Sunday and will train today in the expectation of being fit for Thursday’s UEFA Cup last 16, first leg match against Danish side Aalborg.
