The Portland Timbers become the 18th MLS franchise and will begin play in 2011. Good times for soccer in the Northwest as this announcement comes just two days after Vancouver got their franchise, and one day after Seattle put the hurt on New York in their MLS debut / season opener.
Congratulations Portland!
It’s now official: The Triangle of Death!
Portland will always be Seattle’s New Jersey.
