Just a week after MLS’ announcement that Vancouver would be one of the two cities receiving a 2011 Expansion Team, the supporters stepped up and did their part purchasing all of the deposits for the 5,000 tickets available.

“The response we have received from the community has been phenomenal,” said Vancouver Whitecaps president Bob Lenarduzzi. “We sold 5,000 deposits in less than 48 hours and our season tickets for the upcoming season continue to sell at an unprecedented pace.”

Shortly, another wave of 5,000 will be accepted, with current USL-1 Vancouver season ticket holders first in line, and those on a waitlist next.

Season tickets will be capped at 16,500, and require a $50 deposit.
