“Beasley had yet to be interviewed by anyone following the game at that point.

After he was done with the U.S. soccer interview, I asked him if he was tired of talking about playing leftback.

“Yeah, basically,” Beasley responded.

Would he prefer playing in the midfield?

“Yeah, obviously,” he said. “I’ve never played leftback before. This is my first time I play leftback 90 minutes. It was different.

“It wasn’t something I ever thought about playing but Bob [Bradley] had faith in me to play that position so I guess wherever he wants me to play on the field, I’ll play.”"
