Headed out to Seattle Tuesday morning for the evening’s US Open Cup match at Starfire.

Once we got to the hotel and settled in with some Wendy’s, we grabbed the controller to the big screen in the lobby to watch Chelsea at Barcelona, much to the dislike of the vested duo…

Inside the press box at Starfire. Nice and warm for pre-game… Met a guy at the facility with the Nixon 51-30, red numbers edition.

Then they kicked us outside before kickoff… With no television coverage and being the only radio show broadcasting the game, it made sense to have us within arms length of Sounders fans (with the crew right in front of us being really, really cool about hearing the visiting teams’ version of play by play and color), hence my “Top Flight Security” makeshift duck tape to keep people from knocking us off air.

Headed to Joey’s afterwards with Sterlinho, Danny and Tommy Helmer (Beans’ and my former Cal St Fullerton teammate from back in the day) to meet up with Chris Henderson (former Miami Fusion teammate) and Ezra Hendrickson (former Dallas teammate).

5am at the airport.
