Dempsey’s Half Century

After gaining his 50th cap against Costa Rica on Wednesday, Clint Dempsey will be looking to pick up number 51 tomorrow in Chicago. It also looks like Demspey will break out the custom “Don’t Tread On Me” Mercurial Superfly boots for tomorrow’s game.

These custom Dempsey jump offs feature the name of his daughter, Elyse and a pretty eye catching design. These are definitely working for me. The colorway works, and I like the overall look and design of the boot in general. Definitely a good look.

If you want to customize your own boots, check out NIKEiD.  I’m pretty sure I could spend the entire day messing around and coming up with custom boots.  I have a feeling temptation will get the best of me and at some point today I will be on NIKEiD customizing boots.

The first Don’t Tread On Me boots were better. The all white looks better than the white and black.

i think these are sick. Deuce needs to atone for Costa Rica in these. I thought he had a shocker of a first half. When Bradley took Torres off instead of Deuce my jaw literally hit the floor. I thought Torres was our best performer in that first half, especially considering that Beasley was doing him NO favors.

I think Clint has become complacent with the USMNT. It seems like he feels he’s an automatic starter and the work ethic just isn’t there. He seems like a totally different player for club and country. At Fulham he’s flying all over the pitch and working really hard, but with the US he seems lazy and selfish. Is it just me or does anyone else see this?

chuck you are not alone… all i wanted to see is an aricle saying “i will run my ass off” not “check out these new kicks”2

I agree with most of you on here that Deuce seems complacent but I think it is more like he is not having fun out there - he seems bored. I wonder if it is because the level of play at Fulham is better and the speed of play is quicker? Dempsey used to be exciting to watch. When he first started out he would take on players 1v1, show some flare and pace. I feel it is difficult to really criticize professional athletes if you yourself have never played at the same level but at the very least I hope he comes around to his old ways - homie is very talented with the ball at his feet. The last player that was exciting to watch was John O’Brien who after Tab Ramos is one of the best players to ever come out of this country.

Fredo– I think that’s a cop-out. To say he is bored is BS. Every time you put on a US jersey you should be fighting and working as if it’s for your life.
