Galatasaray has appointed Frank Rijkaard as their new coach, replacing Bulent Korkmaz, the Istanbul club said on its website today. The 46-year-old, who has been linked with the vacancies at Milan, Celtic and Sunderland in recent weeks, has not worked in football since leaving Barcelona last summer.
Rijkaard led the Dutch national team from 1998 to 2000 and won the Champions League and La Liga in a five-year spell between 2003 and 2008.
