Bringing Greatness To The Game
Filed under: Chicago Fire, SupportersIs this Istambul? Belgrade?? Athens??? No, this is Bridgeview, Illinois and Chicago’s Section 8 during the closing moments against Houston on Friday night. The ESPN2 video and Glenn Davis call is a must see.

Awesome!
I got chills man. That was amazing.
pretty cool, but someone must have got in trouble for this. i’d like to hear about that.
great job Chicago!
If you get chills looking at the picture, i have to say I got a stiffy looking into all those flares on top of that stand like that. at one point after this photo the smoke was so dense i had my friend throw a scarf up to wrap around my face cause i could not breath
and i was wearing bump pitch fc hat in the parking lot before the game, but took it off to help make eye contact with everyone
jamesey, actually from what I saw no one got in trouble for this and was planned. The leaders of the supporters groups actually lit the flares and held them the entire time. They then walked them down to stadium security who had buckets of water. This was an extremely superiour example of how fans can create a SAFE awesome atmosphere during a game AND work with the stadium to do so. VERY impressed with it and it was crazy that all the flares went off at once, nicely done Chicago. Now can all of us MLS and US fans follow their lead?
I wish we could do that here in Seattle. Flares are “banned” in Qwest Field. And they think we’re real supporters in Seattle.
