After watching La Seleccion tumble down to 4th place with 19 points in the South American World Cup Qualifiers, the president of Argentina Football Association, Julio Grondona has gone through the media to try and persuade Boca Juniors playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme to make himself available once again for the Albicelestes.

Grondona believes that if Riquelme wants to return to the national team fold he will have to “say” that he “wants to return.”
“If he [Diego Maradona] says the door is open I have to try to find the key. What is the key? An agreement and for Riquelme to understand and to say that he wants to return to the national team,” said Grondona.
In recent weeks, and since Maradona stated that he could recall Riquelme to the side, there has been speculation that the Boca Juniors midfielder could play a part in future World Cup qualifiers.
