In a mesmerizing and emotional title match, the  US team proved they were no fluke, and Brazil had to dig deep to snatch the victory.

This is how players should react when losing. Dempsey had to earn back all of props he lost when Lalas and Harkes ripped his earlier performances.

These are excellent pics. The USMNT are all winners in my book. They played their hearts out and left everything on the field. The lessons learned and disappointment felt will bond them and make them a better team for WC 2010. Nothing to be ashamed of.

A note to all the soccer bashers in our media – Screw you! The USMNT faces challenges no other national team faces (i.e. struggling to find a “home” venue where they feel like the home team, lack of support, criticism from the likes Rome and others questioning soccer’s existence – get a clue rome!). In spite of it all, this team just played the number 1 & 2 national teams in the world and gave a dignified performance in both games. Outstanding!

For 255 consecutive minutes against the best from Africa, South America, and Europe (including the number 1 ranked team in the world), the U.S. built an cumulative advantage of 7-0. Hold your heads up high boys.

What Greg said. Still not sure why Kljestan got the po’d and tired look that ESPN kept showing at the end of the game. What did he contribute once came on?
