After much speculation in the media linking him to multiple big time European clubs, Ivory Coast International Yaya Toure and Barcelona have re-upped the 26 year old’s contract until 2012.

The club say that they have increased the value of his buyout clause to $140 million from $84 million.

“What’s important is to play at a great club and Barca is the club in which I want to play,” he said.

“My will is to end my career here, but I have to continue showing that I can play at the level of this club.”
